Each hook knife is hand made by me from start to finish. I try to achieve reasonably uniform specifications, but there may be up to a quarter inch discrepancy in the blade length and a half inch in the overall length from their stated nominal dimensions. Wood species for handles will vary, but will always be a quality hardwood such as ash, maple, walnut, hickory, black locust, honey locust, cherry, mulberry, elm, or oak. Particular handle species may be available upon request depending upon current stock, but cannot be guaranteed (contact us for more information if you have a species preference).
The video shows hook knife performance cutting half-dry walnut. I personally grind and hone every hook, and they ship razor sharp, ready to work, and include a reusable plastic edge cover.
